A Black Friday Indeed
Happy Black Friday, everyone! Well, at least we HOPE it’s a happy one. This special day of savings has been really living up to its name, with shoppers going dark side on each other to save a couple bucks.
When it comes to Black Friday, you’re either one kind of person or the other. You’re either the person at Walmart carrying a knife in case someone gets in the way of that prime parking spot, or you’re the person judging the maniacs from the comfort of your own home, waiting to hear the horror stories unfold.
Today seems to have been slightly less violent than previous years, according to this website that keeps track of shopping related casualties and injuries that have occurred over the years. The key word being ‘less’ in that last sentence. I mean, the only shootings that have happened so far only resulted in non-life threatening injuries. Plus, one was by a cop, so that doesn’t count, right?
We’ve focused on the ‘darker’ side of black Friday, but some have a sense of humor about the day. Our favourite reaction to the madness was Cards Against Humanities one day ‘sale’. Act now, I can’t imagine quantities lasting too long for this one. And as per usual, the Onion’s satirical report on the day is good for a couple chuckles, too.
What do you think about Black Friday? Is it worth getting in a fistfight at a Walmart to save a couple bucks? I can’t believe I’m actually asking that question.
