Retail growth in Toronto has been on a tear this year designers and retailers launching new shops this side of the border nearly every month. And when fashion’s elite come along to celebrate the opening of their new store, the excitement is palpable. This week Community helped celebrate the arrival of John Varvatos store in Yorkdale with a private party hosted by Due West Clothing and Grey Goose at the Thompson Hotel, featuring the man himself.

Custom Grey Goose cocktails poured from the bar while footage of John Varvatos Fall/Winter 2013 collection streamed above the DJ booth. Some of the night’s revellers even had a chance to rub elbows with the famous menswear designer. Guests were encouraged to share the VIP fun using the hashtag #JVAfterParty.
